Job Summary
To assist the staff by performing clerical duties. To maintain and update patient records in a timely, orderly manner. To acknowledge customers upon arrival to unit and to demonstrate enthusiastic friendly approach.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination.
Experience: Previous secretarial experience desirable.
Licensure/Certification: Current American (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) card preferred.

Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of clerical procedures and medical terminology. Skill in English grammar and spelling. Neat, legible handwriting. Ability to file and maintain patient records, files and reports. Excellent communication skills. Ability to use office equipment, such as multi-line telephones, computer terminals and printers.

Contacts:
Constant interaction with internal and external customers to include (but not limited to) patients, families, physicians, employees and visitors.
Work Demands/Environment : Frequent sitting, walking, standing, stooping, bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours.
Ability to read and comprehend.
