Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist with 2+ years of dedicated pediatric ultrasound experience for night shifts in a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital.
Responsibilities- Position is based in a pediatric hospital environment with all work in-house and no floating or travel between buildings
- Covers general and specialized pediatric ultrasound cases including spines, NEC, TCD, liver and renal dopplers, renal transplants, extremity venous dopplers, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, appendix, and neonatal heads
- Preferred candidates have experience with pediatric liver transplants
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours, Friday through Sunday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with potential flexibility for additional days as needed
- On-call is not required
- Patient caseload per tech varies
- Uses Epic for charting
- No requirement to travel between campus buildings
- Work in a Magnet-recognized, teaching, Level 1 trauma hospital
- Team oriented pediatric sonography department
- Teal tops and black bottoms are required for scrubs
- All modules and training are completed pre-start
- Previous staff must have a 1 year separation from the hospital system to be eligible
- Radius rule of 60 miles applies; locals accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- All requested time off must be submitted at application and is subject to approval
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Night and weekend parking requires a one-time payment for a parking pass
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience in dedicated pediatric ultrasound
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- BLS certification (AHA only) required
- ARDMS or ARRT certification required
- Pediatric hospital experience with NEC, TCD, spines, liver and renal dopplers, renal transplants, extremity venous dopplers, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, appendix, and neonatal heads required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
- First-time travelers are considered
