Title: Ultrasound Technologist – Pediatrics
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night – 3x12-Hour (18:30 – 07:00, Friday–Sunday)
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations for pediatric and neonatal patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Conduct general, vascular, and neonatal ultrasound studies including abdominal, renal, and extremity exams
• Perform specialized pediatric studies such as neonatal head ultrasounds, spine imaging, liver Doppler (all vessels), renal Doppler, renal transplants, TCD, NEC, pyloric stenosis, intussusception, and appendix studies
• Perform portable ultrasound exams in NICU, PICU, pediatrics, and inpatient units
• Ensure proper patient positioning, image optimization, and exam accuracy based on pediatric protocols
• Maintain patient safety, comfort, and infection control standards at all times
• Accurately document procedures and findings using the Epic charting system
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Work scheduled night shifts with potential flexibility for additional coverage as needed
• No floating between buildings required; all work performed within the children's hospital
• No on-call requirements
• Work required holidays per contract guidelines
• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience
• Two to three years of dedicated pediatric hospital ultrasound experience required
• Strong experience with neonatal and pediatric ultrasound procedures
• Experience in NICU, PICU, pediatrics, and portable exams
• Proficiency in liver Doppler, renal Doppler, renal transplants, extremity venous Doppler, NEC, TCD, pyloric stenosis, intussusception, appendix, spines, and neonatal head studies
• Ability to work independently during night shifts in a high-acuity environment
• Charge experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Travel experience not required
• ARDMS or ARRT (R) – required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
• State ultrasound licensure not required
