Polysomnographic Sleep Tech

Job Description Summary

Polysomnographic technologist works under general supervision of the medical director or designee to evaluate and treat sleep disorders, including in‑center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care, and patient education. Technologist should be registered in sleep technology or be eligible to sit for the registry exam within six months of hire.

Location:

Medical University of South Carolina Sleep Center, Charleston, SC.

• Administer various sleep studies under direction of a physician.
• Perform routine patient assessments.
• Score sleep records.
• Document other test results.
• Collect and transmit biological specimens for analysis.

• High school diploma or GED with minimum three years of experience working with sleep patients.
• State licensure and/or professional certification may be required depending on the position.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent).

Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Work shift:

nights (U.S.).
