Under indirect supervision, the Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist I provides high quality sonograms in a dedicated pediatric setting for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Radiologist, adhering to all quality and patient safety standards, as well as standards for professional behavior, as defined by the organization.

- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers.
- Management of patient priority.
- Interdepartmental teamwork for patient care coordination in outpatient setting.
- Timely preparation and communication of preliminary reports.
- Demonstrated competency in all aspects of RIS and PACS as it pertains to modality specific functions and use.
- Adherence to all department policies, procedures, and protocols.
Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
ExperienceTwo to three years’ experience performing dedicated pediatric ultrasound preferred.
Required Registration/Certification- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
