School Based Therapy Manager

Job Description SummaryThe School-Based Therapy Manager operates under the direction of the Senior Manager of School-Based Behavioral Health and is responsible for the direct supervision of school-based therapists. This role ensures equitable and appropriate access to mental health services across all in-network schools.
The Manager collaborates with multiple stakeholders—including The Center for Telehealth, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and other internal and external partners—to optimize the delivery of school-based therapy services.
This position plays a key role in addressing behavioral health disparities across South Carolina, particularly in underserved and resource-limited communities. By coordinating access, overseeing service delivery, and guiding therapist performance, the School-Based Therapy Manager contributes significantly to the overall mission of expanding and enhancing behavioral health services in school settings.
Responsibilities- Direct supervision of school-based therapists.
- Ensure equitable access to mental health services across all in-network schools.
- Collaborate with partners such as The Center for Telehealth, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and other internal and external stakeholders to optimize service delivery.
- Address behavioral health disparities in South Carolina communities.
- Coordinate access and oversee service delivery and therapist performance.
- Master’s degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or related degree.
- Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate required.
- Licensed as Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor – Independent preferred.
- Three years post‑graduate professional social work or counseling experience.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate positively and professionally with medical professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, with 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience.
- State licensure and/or professional certification required; dependent on position.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
