Overview
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team in the Division of Developmental - Behavioral Pediatrics.
Responsibilities- Assessment:
Conduct evaluations of patients and families to identify needs, barriers, and strengths related to developmental, behavioral, and emotional health. - Treatment:
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including counseling, psychoeducation, behavioral support, and brief therapeutic services for children and families. - Coordination of Care:
Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, therapists, educators, and external providers to ensure integrated, family-centered care. Help families navigate systems such as schools, Medicaid, and disability services. - Advocate for patients and families by facilitating referrals to community resources and support services.
- Document services and communications in accordance with MUSC policies, licensing standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in team conferences, diagnostic evaluations, and care planning sessions.
- Support program development and outreach initiatives within the community.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. - Credentials: BSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. Certification in case management preferred.
