Job DescriptionPurpose:
The Clinical Specialist provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services to the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical University Hospitals and clinics.
Note:
Include physical and mental demands of the position. The position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist requires a doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy. Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency program:
Two years of clinical or hospital pharmacy experience may substitute for the clinical pharmacy residency program.
SC Pharmacist License (or eligible for SC Pharmacist License)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification:
Must be BLS Certified within three months of hire date and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Continuous – 6-8 hours per shift

Job Description
Minimum Training and
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
