Job Description Summary
Our CHS Outpatient Clinic Float Team offers a unique opportunity for Certified Medical Assistants who enjoy variety, flexibility, and growth. CHS Clinic Float team members support multiple outpatient clinics across our ambulatory network, stepping in where help is needed most. This position requires reliable transportation for traveling throughout the Tri-County region:
Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley.
This role is ideal for adaptable, patient-focused professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy learning different specialties while making a meaningful impact on patient care.

The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
- American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- National Health career Association (NHA)
- MedCA as a Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant (MA1)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. Ability to climb stairs; work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes; work from elevated areas; work in confined/cramped spaces; kneel, bend, twist, squat, and perform fine and gross motor movements. Ability to reach in all directions and perform repetitive motions. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted, and lift/lower objects up to 50 lbs from floor to 36 inches unassisted.
Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force. Vision and hearing requirements are present with correction; color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception are necessary. Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain tactile sensory functions. Selected positions may require respirator qualification.
