Job Description Summary
The Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Otolaryngology, invites applications for a full-time, audiologist focusing on cochlear implants and hearing aids. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree (AuD and/or PhD), clinical and academic experience with cochlear implants, hearing aids and appropriate certification and licensure. MUSC provides care for more than 2000 patients with cochlear implants, and we implant more than 200 devices yearly.
In addition, we have very active, NIH-funded hearing and cochlear implant research programs.

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree (AuD and/or PhD), clinical and academic experience with cochlear implants, hearing aids and appropriate certification and licensure. MUSC provides care for more than 2000 patients with cochlear implants, and we implant more than 200 devices yearly.
In addition, we have very active, NIH-funded hearing and cochlear implant research programs.
The Department of Otolaryngology includes six Otologists, six Pediatric Otolaryngologists and 23 audiologists. Cochlear implant and hearing aid services are provided at the main campus of MUSC in downtown Charleston as well as satellite locations.
Responsibilities include providing diagnostic and therapeutic audiology services for the cochlear implant and hearing aid programs including evaluations, cochlear implant candidacy determination, intra-operative testing, and post-operative programming and routine management of hearing aid patients. The audiologist is also expected to help teach Otolaryngology residents and supervise AuD students.
Salary Is Dependent On a Candidate’s Qualifications.
