Assistant Project Manager; Summer Intern

Education and qualifying field of study:

Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree electrical engineering program preferred or related field Civil, Computer, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering Building Construction, and Construction Management; or Alumni

Required experience: No experience required.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual(s) to join our team as an Assistant Electrical Engineer Intern for the summer. This internship offers hands‑on experience in electrical engineering within a collaborative and innovative environment. Selected candidate(s) will have the opportunity to contribute to real‑world projects, gain practical skills, and work closely with experienced professionals in the field.

The ideal candidate(s) will assist and support mid‑senior project managers in all phases of electrical work including project acquisition (identification, estimating strategy, cost/proposal development, negotiation, value engineering, site logistics review, pre‑fabrication planning), project preconstruction (team development, planning, procurement), project construction (scheduling, team/relationship building, change management, issue resolution, cost projections, billing), and project close‑out (final documentation, owner training, contract reconciliation, final billing).

Task and Percentage of time spent duty:

• Project Acquisition 30%
• Project Preconstruction 20%
• Project Construction 40%
• Project Close‑Out 10%

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components.
• Support engineers in troubleshooting electrical issues and proposing solutions.
• Participate in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Conduct research and gather data to support project objectives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
• Document project progress, findings, and results accurately.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards new challenges.
• Understanding of electrical principles and circuits a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in using electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar) a plus but not required.

Internship Duration:

This is a full‑time internship position for the duration of the summer, typically lasting 10-12 weeks.
