Reliability Engineer – JLL
What this job involves: This exciting role provides reliability engineering support for the operation and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment assets as part of JLL’s enhanced Reliability & Asset Management program. You will develop robust analysis to determine the reliability of assets, components, equipment, and processes while extracting data from connected systems to continually improve maintenance programs. The position involves overseeing root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) of equipment failures and developing corrective action plans that maximize reliability and efficiency of client assets.
This role requires original thinking, ingenuity, and considerable latitude for independent decision‑making, directly contributing to JLL’s outcomes‑based performance measures and client success.
What your day‑to‑day will look like:
- Prepare work packages for planned maintenance activities including safety requirements and cost estimates
- Create and manage preventative maintenance tasks using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches
- Conduct root‑cause failure analysis investigations and equipment condition assessments
- Monitor predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography
- Maintain accurate records and KPIs within CMMS systems
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop risk mitigation strategies for critical assets
- Review work order feedback and improve future planning efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience with RCM and building automation systems
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems
- Experience with commercial, critical, manufacturing, or distribution facilities
- Proficiency with CMMS software systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation
- Ability to read and apply technical manuals and reference materials
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal maintenance planning/scheduling training
- Experience in critical/regulated environments (data centers, labs, manufacturing)
- Certified Reliability Leader certification
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional certification
- Level 1 thermography, vibration, or ultrasound certifications
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
- Knowledge of asset management and data analytics
