Founded in 1975,  +A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees with offices in Boston and multiple cities nationwide.  +A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.

BR+A seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer in our Charleston, SC office. Candidates must be strongly motivated, well organized, and show professional initiative. The ability to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team is necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Revit.

• Providing Engineering, Design work and drafting of plans
• Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans
• Sketching rough layouts to review with Project Engineer or Project Manager
• Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information
• Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems
• Meeting with vendors to determine spatial requirements for the application of the product
• Attending meetings as required
• Submitting the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones
• Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate
• Developing a strategy to meet the project schedules
• Assisting in the development of engineering systems concepts (M/E)
• Assisting the design team on major design issues
• Organizing required technical correspondence, emails, and calculations
• Performing fieldwork and verification of existing conditions

• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements
• Strong knowledge of Revit
• Professional conduct and presentation
• Positive attitude, result-driven and team-oriented
• Able to think three-dimensionally
• Capable of visiting job sites to perform fieldwork
• Detail oriented and deadline-driven

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• PE License
• 10 - 15 years of related experience
