Water Resources Engineer

Overview

As Water/Sewer Lead Engineer, you will plan, design, and manage projects related to water distribution and sewer collection, and/or pump station design and other water resource tasks. You will have frequent interaction with both clients, public entities and permitting agencies as well as engage in business development and client relationship management efforts for the division as directed by leadership.

• Work as a team member with other project engineers to produce reports, studies, specifications, and construction documents.
• Apply a diverse knowledge of engineering principles relative to water distribution and sewer collection and/or pump station design and other water resources tasks based on several years of experience.
• Have experience with construction management of water resources projects
• Meet with clients to discuss needs, conceptualize solutions, and develop proposals
• Have a working knowledge of funding sources for municipal projects
• Supervise and seal designs by other engineers
• Manage projects from concept through construction
• Develop an overall understanding of client’s long-term goals
• Participate in business development efforts such as networking in industry organizations, ie: GAWP, GRWA, ASCE, AWWA as well as developing new client contacts
• Work with and support designs and projects in other HGB offices
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and other appropriate employees
• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution
• PE license in TN
• 8 or more years of experience related to water projects
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D software

§ Working knowledge and application of Sewer and/or Water GEMS and Water

CAD software

• Experience designing and permitting wastewater treatment plants
• Master’s Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering a plus but not required
• Advanced leadership skills as either a technical leader and/or project manager of complex projects
• Experience working with and managing a team of engineers
• Self motivated
