Position OverviewHDR is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector to join our South Carolina team. This role can be based out of any of our offices in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Fort Mill. The Senior Bridge Inspector will perform bridge inspections, some office engineering tasks (rating, rehab/repair design, CADD), and assist in preparing inspection reports according to NBIS standards. They may also support bridge inspection program management and develop inspection guidance documents.
Key Responsibilities- Bachelor's or associate degree in civil engineering or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Willingness to collaborate across disciplines and work during inspection downtime
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel, including overnight stays
- Strong communication skills and client relationship abilities
- Physical ability to perform field inspections of various structures, including working at heights, maneuvering ladders, operating boats, and walking on uneven surfaces
- Willingness to work in environmental conditions and exposure to hazards
- Local candidates preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to work independently and in teams
