Position: Engineer Scientist I

VNE develops systems, training courses, and tools that enable warfighters to employ tactical intelligence systems effectively and provides management guidance to the government organizations that create these systems.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: 1–3 years of related engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience developing engineering drawings
  • Experience in C5

    ISR‑related programs supporting a department of war customer (preferred)
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling software, such as Solid Works (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum Secret clearance required with the ability to receive a TS/SCI clearance
Job Description
  • Responsible for electrical and radio frequency engineering support for new and existing USMC SIGINT systems
  • Development of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) that include 3D CAD models and engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100
  • Provide electrical/RF engineering support to testing and evaluation as required
  • Design power, RF, and data cables for USMC SIGINT applications
  • Apply systems analysis, design techniques, and operational procedures to complex electrical systems
  • Provide systems development support for the integration and acquisition of new SIGINT hardware
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors regarding commercial‑off‑the‑shelf (COTS) equipment
  • Present technical information and communicate engineering design principles with the government customer
  • Coordinate with the larger program team to include project management, logistics, technical writing, and configuration management
  • Support the NIWC LANT customer’s research and development, test and evaluation, prototype fielding kit development, engineering documentation development, software engineering, integration, and training and sustainment for USMC SIGINT systems. Systems supported include the Communication Emitter Sensing and Attacking System II (CESAS II) and Tactical SIGINT Collection System (TSCS).
