Palmetto Mentors is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as mentors in our program. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young individuals by providing guidance, support, and encouragement. Mentors play a crucial role in helping mentees develop essential life skills, set and achieve goals, and navigate challenges they may encounter.

Establish and Maintain Relationships: Build a positive and supportive relationship with assigned mentee(s) based on trust, respect, and confidentiality.

Provide Guidance and Support: Offer guidance, advice, and encouragement to mentees as they work towards personal, academic, and professional goals.

Set Clear Objectives: Collaborate with mentees to establish clear objectives and action plans to achieve their goals.

Listen Actively: Listen attentively to mentees' concerns, challenges, and aspirations, and provide empathetic support and constructive feedback.

Adhere to Program Policies: Follow program guidelines, policies, and code of conduct to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive mentoring environment.

Qualifications:

Empathy and Patience: Ability to empathize with mentees, demonstrate patience, and offer non-judgmental support.

Professionalism: Professional demeanor, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.

Experience or Interest in Mentorship: Prior experience in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or working with youth is preferred but not required. Passion for making a positive impact and willingness to learn and grow as a mentor is essential.
