Requirement:
Master’s degree in reading instruction OR advanced certification such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, or equivalent.
Alpha School is implementing an AI-powered reading program that reshapes early literacy education. You will facilitate brief, high-impact workshops instead of conventional hour-long sessions. Your role involves diagnosing individual student needs, developing original evidence-based lessons independently, and contributing to adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of learners. This position requires reading specialists who excel without fixed curricula and are motivated to advance scalable literacy solutions.

- Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating personalized motivational experiences that engage students and foster a lifelong passion for reading
- Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve instructional methods and identify meaningful insights
- Partnering with the technology team to assess and improve AI-powered literacy tools
- Following pre-scripted curricula or published scope-and-sequence frameworks
Key Responsibilities
Cultivate a passion for reading in young learners
Basic Requirements- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
- Ability to assess reading proficiency, organize student groups, and create differentiated instruction independently of pre-written curricula
- Experience with AI/adaptive learning platforms and ability to respond effectively to student interactions within them
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Working with usThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
