Join the Citadel’s Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Management and Entrepreneurship Department, focusing on organizational behavior, human resources, and strategic leadership. You will be a member of a well-established team of academic professionals committed to educating innovative leaders.
Position DescriptionThis position focuses on teaching and research in organizational behavior, human resources, strategic leadership, and related areas of organizational management and leadership. It is a tenure‑track appointment, with academic rank determined by qualifications and experience. Faculty are reviewed annually and may receive credit toward tenure for prior full‑time academic experience.
Teaching duties may include undergraduate and graduate courses on general management topics. The role also involves active student engagement and service to the institution.
Employment will begin in August 2026, or earlier if the selected candidate is available.
Candidate Qualifications- PhD in Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, Leadership or a closely related field, earned from an AACSB‑accredited (or equivalent) institution. ABD candidates will be considered.
- Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses related to the qualifications and experience.
- Ability to sustain research activities that result in scholarly publications meeting AACSB standards.
- Experience in student engagement and institutional service appropriate to academic rank and professional advancement.
- Experience in organizational behavior, leadership, or human resources, especially within programs for organizational design, development, and/or change.
- Willingness to teach upper‑division undergraduate courses in management and organization topics, particularly strategic management.
- Experience or understanding of military organizations.
- Experience using online learning management systems, particularly Canvas.
- Experience teaching in an online environment.
- Teach 3 courses each semester, developing undergraduate and/or master’s level courses and engaging students through in‑person and online (Canvas).
- Teach general and specialized courses in management and organizations at undergraduate and graduate levels as needed.
- Engage in scholarly research meeting AACSB requirements.
- Provide academic advising and student engagement.
- Participate in institutional service, program assessments, and professional development; contribute to scholarship and professionalism in the field.
- Contribute to undergraduate and MBA program curriculum development as the department expands.
