Job Description
The Division of Pulmonology, Allergy and Immunology, in The Dr. Charles P. Darby Jr. Department of Pediatrics, at the Medical University of South Carolina, is seeking a board certified/board eligible allergist/immunologist to join our faculty on the clinician-educator track. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will help us expand our comprehensive allergy and immunology services within MUSC Children’s Health System.
Responsibilities will include primarily outpatient care for children and adults, but will also provide inpatient pediatric allergy and immunology consult service. In the next few years, we plan to offer an Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program. Areas of potential growth include multispecialty clinics in drug allergy, oral immunotherapy, severe asthma, severe eczema, immune dysregulation, and solid organ transplant.
In addition to clinical expectations, responsibilities will also include teaching fellows, residents and medical students. Pursuing individual scholarly interests is encouraged and supported.

- Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Commitment to MUSC’s educational missions
- Eligible for licensure in South Carolina
- Strong interest in working with both typical as well as medically complex children
- Participates in Patient-Centered Medical Home activities
- Displays a strong commitment to Evidence-Based Medicine and Quality Improvement in teaching and practice
- Practices located at MUSC’s Summey Medical Pavilion in North Charleston, in addition to allergy clinics in the greater Charleston area (currently in Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, and growing to Summerville)
