Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, one of the nation’s oldest and most cherished historic gardens, is seeking a Part‑time Guest Experience Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and create memorable experiences for every visitor. As the first point of contact, you’ll welcome guests with a smile and assist them at key touchpoints including the Welcome Center, Peacock Café, and Gift Shop. You’ll also have the opportunity to share Magnolia’s diverse tour offerings—such as the Nature Train, Wildlife Boat Tour, and other future outdoor, nature‑based experiences—ensuring a seamless and consistent guest journey from start to finish.

What You’ll Do:
  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring every interaction is positive and welcoming.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences through expert ticketing, sales, and all other guest interactions, both in person and over the phone.
  • Stay up to date on Magnolia’s history, tour schedules, upcoming events, frequently asked questions, and visitor directions to provide accurate, timely information.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Reconcile sales receipts with accuracy at the end of each shift.
  • Learn and present tour narratives in an engaging way within MPC approved scripts, with appropriate tones for the content; describe points of interest at Magnolia that relate to the tour; answer questions and facilitate discussions as appropriate.
  • Ensure visitor safety during tours while managing group needs with professionalism.
  • Support the team by stepping into other duties as needed, always with a positive, team‑player spirit.
Who You Are:
  • Experienced in retail, customer service, or hospitality.
  • A strong listener with the ability to resolve issues or elevate appropriately.
  • Passionate about creating immersive, positive guest experiences at every stage of their visit.
  • Detail‑oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and reliable, with availability to work weekends.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Adaptable to change, able to transition smoothly between departments, and eager to embrace new opportunities.

Essential

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk or stand for up to 8 hours on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb multiple stairs and navigate inclines throughout the property.
  • Ability to safely board/disembark boats and trains while assisting guests.
  • Ability to project your voice clearly to groups of up to 50 people for extended periods.
