A well-established, family-owned heavy civil contractor in the Carolinas is seeking a Project Manager to join its growing operations team. This is a long-term opportunity with a company known for strong employee retention, a collaborative culture, and consistent backlog across both public and private sector work. The organization has built a strong reputation delivering site development, utilities, roadways, and infrastructure projects, and is investing in its leadership team as part of continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage heavy civil and sitework projects from award to close-out
- Collaborate with estimating and field teams to develop execution strategies
- Review and administer contracts and subcontract agreements
- Track project costs, quantities, and production
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure schedule and budget alignment
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
- Support procurement and change management processes
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil, sitework, or utilities
- Strong understanding of earthwork, grading, and underground utilities
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors
- Proficiency in Excel and construction software platforms
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with AGTEK, HCSS Heavy Job, Trimble, or similar platforms
- Background in Southeast US civil construction
- Knowledge of local soils, site development, and infrastructure
