Instrument Operator

Atlas Surveying is a professional land surveying company established in 2004, with licenses in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Over the years, the company has expanded to include over 150 professionals and operates from multiple locations, including Charlotte, NC;
Greenville, SC;
Charleston, SC; and Savannah/Hilton Head Island. This extensive regional presence enables Atlas Surveying to manage projects across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and parts of northern Florida. With a wide-ranging client base that includes engineers, architects, contractors, utilities, realtors, government agencies, and private property owners, Atlas Surveying delivers comprehensive solutions to meet diverse needs.

This is a full-time, on-site Instrument Operator role based in Charleston, SC. The Instrument Operator will assist in conducting land surveys, set up and operate surveying equipment, and collect data in support of engineering and land development projects. Daily responsibilities include operating total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors, accurately recording field data, and assisting with boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.

The Instrument Operator will collaborate closely with the survey crew and ensure equipment is well-maintained and ready for field operations.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to solve problems in the field
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or experience is a plus
