We are seeking an experienced Marine Construction Project Manager for the Charleston, SC market to lead marine construction projects from contract award through closeout. This role is responsible for field execution, schedule, cost control, safety, quality, and client coordination for projects including pile driving, docks, bulkheads, dolphins, seawalls, wharves, marine foundations, and waterfront structures.
Key Responsibilities- Manage marine construction projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and logistics
- Coordinate field crews, equipment, barges, cranes, materials, and subcontractors
- Provide day-to-day support and oversight to Superintendents and field leadership
- Track labor hours, equipment usage, materials, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare job cost reports, cost forecasts, change orders, and billings
- Lead project kickoff meetings and regular progress meetings
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Coast Guard, USACE, and environmental requirements
- Manage Subcontractors
- Assist with bid preparations and bid reviews
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, progress reports, and closeout documents
- Support punch list completion and final project closeout
- Perform project take-offs and prepare estimates
- 10 years of experience in marine and/or heavy civil construction
- Demonstrated experience managing marine construction projects (non-dredging)
- Strong working knowledge of pile driving and marine structures, materials, and industry best practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and to identify cost components and risk factors
- Experience with project scheduling, cost control, and forecasting
- Proficiency with MS Project, Procore, Primavera P6, Heavy Job, or similar systems
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Willingness to work in marine environments and travel to job sites as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience coordinating with commercial diving operations
- Experience working in ports, coastal, or waterfront environments
- Familiarity with permitting constraints and in-water work restrictions
- PMP or similar project management certification
