Job Title: Vocational and Recreational Transition Program Advisor
Pattison's Academy is seeking a passionate and driven Vocational and Recreational Transition Program Advisor to join our summer camp team. Reporting to the Camp Director, this position will be responsible for executing a 4-week camp program for up to 9 camp participants with intellectual disabilities aged 14-24.
Qualifications- Must have at least sixteen (16) weeks of experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Must have aminimumofan
Associate’s Degree with a focus on one or more of the following:
Education, Therapy (SLP, OT, Physical), Medicine, Psychology - Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification
As the Vocational and Recreational Transition Program Advisor, you will be expected to carry out the following job duties:
- Execute a daily schedule of job skills/requirements for each program participant to complete to compliment his/her strengths
- Think creatively to ensure each camper is socially, emotionally, and physically challenged
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on program participant’s progress throughout the 4-week program
- Work closely and collaboratively with all members of the camp administration team to help plan an appropriate and engaging schedule/program for campers
- Show flexibility to the pace and needs of the campers
- Assist and help guide counselors with any camper's personal hygiene needs (toileting, feeding, etc.)
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Ensure compliance to all safety requirements
- Transport camp participants safely to and from community outings via Pattison’s Academy transportation while following transportation policies
- Complete and pass transportation training
- Closely monitor campers during camp hours to ensure safety and appropriate interaction with their environment and peers
- Lead campers in appropriate community-based instruction/worksite visits
- Promote self-advocacy, work readiness, and job exploration for all campers
- Supervise up to 2 staff members/counselors to follow daily schedule and ensure safety and participation of all campers
- 10 hours of virtual planning before being on-site
