Pattison’s Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission to unlock the potential of individuals with disabilities and empower their families. Located in Charleston, South Carolina, we provide individualized, comprehensive, year-round programming for children with disabilities through our charter school, summer camp, therapy services, and early intervention services. Pattison's Academy is seeking a passionate and driven Summer Camp Activity Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging and hands-on activities for 51 campers with disabilities, ages 3-24, during a 4-week therapeutic summer camp program.
Qualifications- Must have at least sixteen (16) weeks of experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Must have at minimum of an Associate’s Degree with a focus on one or more of the following:
Education, Therapy (SLP, OT, Physical), Medicine, Psychology, Adaptive PE - Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification
The Summer Camp Activity Coordinator duties, though not exhaustive, comprise the following:
- Develop and execute 4 weeks' worth of adapted programming with a focus on fine motor and sensory activities for campers with diverse physical, intellectual, and medical needs (e.g. art projects, games, science experiences, etc.)
- Ensure all planned activities are communicated with and approved by Camp Administration prior to facilitation
- Participate in Camp Planning Meetings
- Review camp inventory and submit supply requests
- Facilitate and assist with daily setup/breakdown of activities
- Assist with pre-camp and post-camp setup/breakdown
- Train camp staff on expectations of activity participation for both campers and camp staff
- Communicate with camp staff daily activities and schedule
- Ensure all campers and staff are actively participating in activities
- Adhere to all Pattison’s Academy Therapeutic Summer Camp policies and procedures
- Follow daily schedule requirements
- Perform other related job duties as assigned
