Controller, Accounting, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections

Overview

The Controller will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including sales tax oversight, accounts receivable, invoicing, and financial reporting. This role requires expertise in Quick Books Online, , and Shopify
, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with leadership on cashflow and P&L management.

This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday–Friday).

• Manage multi-state sales tax filings and compliance
• Maintain accurate nexus records and ensure timely payments
• Reconcile sales tax liabilities and resolve discrepancies

• Oversee customer invoicing through and internal systems
• Monitor outstanding A/R and follow up on past-due accounts
• Maintain accurate customer financial records
• Assist in preparing monthly P&L statements
  , balance sheets, and cashflow reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Provide financial insights to leadership for decision-making

• Manage daily accounting entries and reconciliations in Quick Books Online (QBO)
• Reconcile bank, credit card, merchant, and sales platform accounts
• Coordinate with operations to ensure accurate COGS, inventory, and order data
• Support year-end reporting, audits, and tax preparation

• Maintain integrations between Shopify, QBO, and other platforms
• Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure accounting procedures align with GAAP standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5+ years of professional accounting experience (e-commerce experience a plus)
• Proficiency with:
• Quick Books Online
• Shopify
• Strong understanding of sales tax compliance
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and analytical skills
