Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will contribute to essential accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting multi-entity processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring accurate financial records and assisting with automation projects related to commission processes.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

- Support month-end close procedures across multiple entities.

- Process vendor invoices and apply general ledger coding with precision.

- Assist with onboarding vendors by managing required documentation like W-9 forms.

- Review and process credit card transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies.

- Handle deposits, apply payments to customer accounts, and monitor accounts receivable.

- Maintain detailed documentation for billing activities, credits, and adjustments.

- Collaborate with HR to integrate employee updates into financial processing systems.

- Contribute to payroll-related entries, including reimbursements and commission calculations.

- Participate in initiatives to optimize accounting workflows and improve financial systems. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of two years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity setting.

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Net Suite or Quick Books.

- Strong knowledge of corporate and sales tax processes.

- Familiarity with general ledger functions and journal entries.

- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formula creation.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

- Effective communication and organizational skills for cross-functional collaboration.
