Direct Support Person

CCAR Industries is searching for a full-time direct support person (DSP) to provide support to one female program participant in her home and the community. The staff person will support the individual while she engages in the activities of her choice throughout the day, including van rides, visiting community attractions, attending appointments or simply relaxing  addition, the staff person will work as part of the individual's planning team to assure that her personal objectives and needs are met and that she is happy, healthy, and enjoying the meaningful day of her choice.

SCHEDULE

This is a permanent full-time, daytime position on Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (40 hours/week) with weekends and major holidays off.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background check
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a direct support role is strongly preferred, but related experience will be considered
• Must be able to work independently or as a team
• Demonstrate timeliness and accuracy in documentation, as well as a compassion to support the individuals who we serve

WAGES

This position starts at $17.25/hour and will increase to $18.00/hour when paid training is completed.

PAY SCHEDULE

Staff are paid every two weeks with a direct deposit option available upon request
