An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing. This position offers a chance to apply specialized skills in a dynamic surgical environment, providing critical care for patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures.
Location:
Situated in Charles City, Iowa, this community offers a friendly atmosphere with access to local dining, parks, and cultural attractions. Residents enjoy a blend of small-town charm with convenient access to larger metropolitan areas for extended amenities.
Schedule:
- Primarily day shifts, 8 hours per day
- Shift hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Call responsibilities average 10-12 days per month, including every third weekend on call
- Provide perioperative nursing care to cardiovascular surgery patients
- Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Monitor patient condition pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, applying critical assessment skills
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Proven experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and related technologies
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team-oriented setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
This is a contract position offering exposure to complex cardiovascular cases and a supportive clinical environment. The schedule provides predictable hours with additional call responsibilities. Flexibility for travel or relocation is helpful but not required.
