St. Mary Parish – Chardon

Janitorial/Housekeeping Staff Part-time Non-exempt Janitorial/Housekeeping position y Parish in Chardon. Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Pastor and Facilities Manager, assist with the cleaning, tear down and setup needs of St. Mary Parish and School. The position hours would be between 1-6 pm Monday through Friday depending on needs, with occasional weekend availability for setup and tear down. 15-25 hours per week.

• Clean and reset cafeteria after school lunch. Use the floor scrubbing machine.
• Take garbage out to dumpsters.
• Vacuum and dust church and school offices.
• Clean school and church office bathrooms.
• Dust mop gym floor daily. Use the floor scrubber on the gym floor weekly.
• Set up and tear down the Banquet Room and meeting rooms for events.
• Clean school classrooms as needed.
• Work well with others and be flexible.
• Perform other duties in keeping with the position as necessary.

• Must be able to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Cleveland in performing all responsibilities of this role.
• Combination of education and experience normally represented by a high school Diploma.
• Must be able to provide transportation to and from work.
• Ensure all duties are accomplished using safe work habits and provide for the safety of other personnel while performing duties.
• Demonstrate professional and appropriate values and behavior to the staff, families, and students of St. Mary Parish and St. Mary School.
• Ability to be flexible to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must complete VIRTUS certification and fingerprinting/BCI compliance upon hire and enroll in the State Rapback Program.
