Overview
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing receipts of materials, cycle counts/physical inventory, tracking all materials transferred to construction/O&M, and completing ViewPoint transactions associated with warehouse duties.
Responsibilities- Work alongside the Traffic Coordinator to obtain schedule for all inbound shipments.
- Enforce conformance of truck drivers in the areas of proper documentation, required PPE, condition of goods on the trucks, and arrival during assigned delivery appointment. Accept or reject as needed to support Strata policies and procedures.
- Obtain a physical count of materials incoming from Suppliers.
- Ensure receiving paperwork matches the materials that are being delivered on each truckload and notate any non-conformances on the paperwork before signing them.
- Receive quantities into the perpetual inventory system (ViewPoint).
- Scan and properly label all proof of delivery documentation: BOLs, Manifests, Packing Slips into ViewPoint.
- Perform cycle counts (weekly) and physical inventory counts (monthly), or as otherwise scheduled.
- Communicate trucking issues (late shipments, unexpected truck quantities) to the Corporate Logistics team.
- Prepare and maintain inventory monitoring reports and communicate consistently with Corporate Logistics/Purchasing Teams and warehouse manager.
- Ensure the Material Pull List is completed and transacted within ViewPoint.
- Ensure all transactions are completed within ViewPoint on the same day they are physically performed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- 2+ years of inventory experience.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability for accuracy.
- Must be able to interact well with others in multiple positions.
- Must be a safety-conscious individual and able to adhere to company safety standards.
Work is performed in a warehouse/field environment. May be required to drive a company vehicle when delivering material; must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, twist, bend and stand for more than 1 hour. Overtime may be necessary, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
