The purpose of this position is to assist individuals who have an autism spectrum diagnosis to meet employment needs. This role involves coordinating program services/activities, monitoring, evaluating, and modifying program activities, and developing resources. All TEACCH Employment Services staff, including administrative staff, will work directly with adults with autism as part of their job. This position is not center-based; all services are provided in the community and travel is required, sometimes on short notice.
Staff may work alone in the community providing supports to autistic adults.
- Work with autistic adults in community-based settings to provide employment‑related supports.
- Coordinate with families, employers, schools, medical staff, residential providers, and community-based agencies to support individuals’ employment goals.
- Collaborate with a local school system to provide assessments, vocational counseling, and internship development, managing a caseload of students and coordinating with teachers, transition facilitators, administration, transportation, families, and employers.
- Document services and ensure deliverables are billable to the school system and align with Vocational Rehabilitation Pre-Employment Transition Services requirements.
- Maintain strong organization and communication to sustain relationships with the community and multidisciplinary teams.
- Independently perform duties with minimal supervision and adapt to varying schedules and service components.
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
