Summary: The Hospital Police Lieutenant is responsible for overseeing a campus operation or a specific unit within the department, ensuring the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, and visitors. This role includes supervising personnel, managing daily operations, and coordinating law enforcement responses to emergencies and incidents. The Lieutenant enforces policies and procedures, collaborates with hospital leadership, and develops strategies to enhance security and public safety.
Additionally, they provide training, monitor compliance with regulations, and support the professional development of officers under their command.
This position is eligible for a $15,000 commitment incentive spread over a two-year period.
Responsibilities- Education Requirements: Requires completion of an Associate s or Bachelor s Degree.
- Licensure/Certification Requirements: Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission;
Valid North Carolina Driver s License. - Professional Experience Requirements: Requires five (5) years of progressive sworn law enforcement officer experience, with at least (two) 2 years of the experience requirement in a supervisory role equivalent to a Police Sergeant or greater;
Certification from NC CJETSC as a commissioned police officer or certification eligible for out-of-state lateral hires. - Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
