Position Summary

This position serves as a subject matter expert representing the UNC Clinical Trials Office in facilitating the conduct of oncology clinical trials and ensuring associated financial compliance. The role provides oversight, creation, and maintenance of oncology treatment plans in Epic; ensures adherence to best practices in research billing review standards; and as subject‑matter expert, trains new and existing staff on compliant processes as they pertain to mitigating patient financial toxicity.

Serving as a key liaison to the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the UNC Office of Clinical Trials, and the North Carolina Cancer Hospital, this position ensures research charges are accurately managed for clinical oncology study compliance and adhering to precise fiscal coordination safeguarding institutional integrity and mitigating financial and operational liability.
These responsibilities relate to the mission of the UNC/LCCC Protocol Office by maintaining the quality of research and by addressing patient safety, regulatory compliance, and financial compliance which impact research quality and safeguard institutional integrity.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Relevant post‑Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.
