Job Overview – Salesperson
Entry level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieving our sales and service objectives. The role requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and basic part knowledge. The individual must be able to source parts from stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers, and has in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. The position can be part time or full time.
Fleet safety certification is preferred.
- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customers during in‑store visits and on the phone.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its overall sales targets.
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper blade installation, etc.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes including truck put‑away, cycle counts, and back‑stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, storage areas, parking lot).
- General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficiency with delivery board systems.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Experience operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills
- Speak and write English;
Spanish a plus. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. - Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Flexibility to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

- Pick, stage, and pick up returns and cores for customer orders.
- Drop off weekly and monthly sales flyers.
- Collect daily credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, storage areas, parking lot).
- General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficiency with delivery board systems.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.

The employee will predominantly walk or stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
Work EnvironmentThe employee typically works inside but sometimes works outside, exposed to weather conditions while installing batteries and wiper blades. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
