Experienced Line Cook

Overview

Governors Club is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team. Our Line Cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of food items and will report to the Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.

• Setting up and stocking station according to guidelines
• Preparing all food items in a sanitary and timely manner
• Following recipes, portion control and presentation as set by Governors Club
• Restocking of all items as needed during the shift
• Cleaning and maintaining the station practicing good safety, sanitation and organizing skills
• Properly using all equipment in station
• Assisting with the cleaning and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas
• Performing additional responsibilities as requested by the Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Executive Chef as needed

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Skilled professional cooking, knife handling, kitchen safety and sanitation practices and food handling
• Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Private club experience preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for duration of shift
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Executive Chef

• Paid Vacation and Sick Time Available to Full time employees after 90 days. Accrued time may not be used until employee has completed six months of employment
• Health, Dental, Vision Insurance Available to employees averaging 30 or more hours per week after 90 days - Employee cost $7.50/weekly
• 6 Paid Holidays Available to Full time employees after 90 days
• 401k Retirement Plan All employees who complete 1000 hours in a plan year. Governors Club will match the employee contributions $0.50 for every $1.00 up to a maximum of 5%.
• Golfing privileges All employees after 90 days - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons
• Tennis privileges All employees after 90 days
• Complimentary Meals All employees 11am & 4pm
• Continuing Education Scholarships Available to all employees and their dependents

Full-Time:
Regular employee averaging 32 or more hours per week after 90 days

Part-Time:
Regular employee averaging 31 or fewer hours per week after 90 days

Start at $ an hour, negotiable based on qualifications or experience. Pay is weekly.

Full Time

Typical work week Tuesday - Saturday

2pm-10pm Tuesday - Saturday

9am - 5pm Rotating Sundays
