Position Overview
UTS - Temporary Computer Technician - Inspection and Customer Support at UNC Chapel Hill.
Location:
Chapel Hill, NC. Duration:
Temporary (No time limit).
Work schedule:
Monday - Friday, 40 hrs per week, onsite.
- Receive and inspect incoming computer hardware.
- Evaluate condition and functionality to determine recycling or refurbishment.
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on refurbishable units.
- Document inspection results and maintain inventory records.
- Provide technical support to customers regarding refurbished computers.
- Collaborate with the sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Experience with computer repair or IT support is a plus.

Some duties involve retrieving equipment from a heated work shed. Please note that the heating system may take time to warm the space, so the employee should be comfortable working in cooler temperatures for short periods.
