Position Summary

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Total Well Being Program Specialist will serve a key role within a small, collaborative Total Well Being team within the Office of Human Resources. The position will focus on developing, promoting, and implementing a variety of virtual and in-person work-life and wellness programs and challenges designed to improve the health, well-being, and engagement of over 14,000 University employees.

In close collaboration with the Senior Total Well Being Manager, the Program Specialist will work to enhance existing wellness programs while independently creating new initiatives that address core areas such as work-life balance, healthy living, financial wellness, education benefits, and community service, with a focus on stress management and emotional and psychological health. This role will be responsible for supporting the Wellness Champions program, working with faculty and staff across the University to foster a greater culture of health and well-being throughout Carolina.

The Program Specialist will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, within the University and community, to provide effective delivery of wellness resources and services, and assist with providing guidance, presentations, and ongoing communication to ensure that employees are informed, engaged, and utilizing the available wellness and discount programs.

The Total Well Being Program Specialist will utilize project management skills to ensure the successful planning and execution of wellness initiatives and resources, track outcomes, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness to drive employee engagement, improve employee well-being and job satisfaction.
