Surgical Technologist

Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for Surgical Tech-Pediatrics that will provide support for our client's healthcare systems in Chapel Hil
l, North Carolina.

Job Title: Surgical Tech-Pediatrics

Schedule: 40 hours/Week

Shift: Days – 5x8 hour shifts

Pay Range for Traveler: $1,500.00-$1,560.00 Weekly

• Perform technical duties across all OR specialty service areas
• Ensure proper technical and sterile practices
• Maintain, assemble, handle, and sterilize specialty instruments
• Follow and maintain aseptic technique
• Identify contamination or breaks in sterile technique and take corrective action
• Perform and document surgical counts
• Follow policy for incorrect counts and report discrepancies
• Label and monitor medications and solutions used
• Assist with identification and handling of surgical specimens
• Plan and organize instruments and supplies for procedures
• Assist surgeons with understanding of anatomy and procedure needs
• Prepare and pick surgical cases and instruments
• Modify scrubbing procedures based on case needs
• Respond to surgical emergencies
• Assist with inventory, receiving, and stocking of supplies
• Identify and report defective equipment or instruments
• Operate and troubleshoot OR equipment
• Serve as mentor/preceptor to Surgical Tech trainees

• Minimum 1 year Trauma Level experience – REQUIRED
• Pediatric (Peds) experience – REQUIRED
• Current BLS required from American Heart Association
