Manager Accreditation - Accreditation Regulatory

This position is responsible for accreditation and regulatory compliance preparation activities for UNC Health as part of UNC Health Unified Quality. The Accreditation Manager coordinates multi‑disciplinary team participation in Joint Commission, state and federal surveys and provides technical assistance to stakeholders on matters pertaining to the application of Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations and North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation requirements.
Responsibilities- Lead the team toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals; provide an inclusive workplace that fosters development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of current accreditation standards and related state and federal regulations; effectively manage Joint Commission, CMS and DHSR surveys; prepare and coordinate written responses and follow‑up; ensure organizational readiness and ongoing compliance.
- Coordinate investigations and responses to complaints from The Joint Commission; participate in root cause analysis of sentinel events; assist with development and monitoring of corrective action plans; provide guidance on interpretation and application of standards.
- Initiate and manage change, remove barriers or accelerate its pace; communicate a compelling vision and need for change that generates excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the process.
- Exceed departmental and organizational goals; participate in decision making that produces high‑quality results, apply knowledge, analyze problems, and calculate risks; maintain realistic budgets; use financial information to monitor budgetary responsibilities.
Education Requirements — Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
Licensure/Certification Requirements — None required.
Professional Experience Requirements — Seven (7) years of experience in administration or patient care in a hospital setting; one (1) year of managerial experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements — Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems desired.
