MRI Technologist – Contract Assignment
UNC Medical Center | Chapel Hill, NC
UNC Health is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for an MRI Tech who thrives in a high-quality academic medical environment and is confident working with advanced imaging technology.

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient comfort and accuracy throughout the imaging process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying patient identity, medical history, and pregnancy status per protocol
- Educating patients and families and ensuring patient safety at all times
- Operating MRI scanners and related systems, including PACS, EMR (Epic), injectors, and image processing tools
- Selecting and interpreting imaging protocols and scanning parameters
- Administering oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients following established safety guidelines
- Establishing IV access and verifying lab values prior to contrast administration
- Transferring, verifying, and segmenting images in PACS and EMR systems
- Ensuring accurate charge capture and documentation
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
- Assisting with troubleshooting equipment or protocol issues
- Supporting departmental workflow and participating in quality improvement efforts
- Precepting new employees and students as needed
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT registration (or registry eligible with diploma provided)
- Advanced MRI certification required within one year of employment
- Current BLS (HCP) certification
- Ability to maintain registry and continuing education requirements
