Temporary Staff (SHRA), Part‑Time, 24 hours per week, 6‑month appointment (not to exceed 11 months). Salary: $22.00–$30.00 per hour.
Primary Purpose of Organizational UnitThe UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Pediatric and Public Health provides oral health care for individuals from infancy through adolescence and promotes the prevention of oral disease.
Position SummaryThe scope of work of this research specialist in the field of oral epidemiology is to assist in all phases of ongoing studies of the interplay of social determinants of health, oral health behaviors and early childhood oral health. Responsibilities include proposal writing, IRB submission and correspondence, literature review, data collection and quality control, developing semi‑structured interviews for qualitative research, data summaries, data analysis (both quantitative and qualitative), preparation of manuscripts, scientific presentations, and submission to journals.
Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications , Competencies, And Experience- Proposal writing, IRB submission, data collection and analysis (both quantitative and qualitative)
- Interpretation, report writing
- Manuscript writing and submission
- Course work in public health or related areas; research experience in the field
- Experience in qualitative research
- Experience with software for quantitative and qualitative research
- Bilingual (Spanish‑English)
