Position Summary
This position provides an intermediate level skill set in Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical (IC&E). The skill set level allows work independently on less complicated equipment or systems or with minimal instruction from supervisory staff or advanced technicians.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
- Associate’s degree in electronics, or equivalent combination of training and experience, all from accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Experience in repair and maintenance of a variety of electrical/electronic equipment or systems.
Working Conditions
- Position will work in extreme weather conditions including extreme heat/cold, direct sun, precipitation, and/or wind.
- Must remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Must ascend/descend stairs in buildings without an elevator.
- Requires entry into confined spaces or hazardous environments with appropriate PPE per procedures.
Operational Requirements
- Supports Cogeneration Facility and Manning Drive Steam Plant operating 24/7/365.
- Must correct events that jeopardize steam and electricity production immediately; may be required to report during adverse weather or emergencies.
- Requires understanding of systems, equipment, and components; development, modification, and implementation of daily reports on the DCS.
- With training, expected to become conversant with EPA and DAQ regulatory requirements for CEMS.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
- Intermediate skill set in electrical, instrumentation, and control circuitry on equipment and systems such as instrument air, fans, pumps, valves, control valves, mills, cooling towers, fluid drives, air compressors, water treatment systems, bag houses, fuel handling systems, stack lights, and railroad crossing signals.
