Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit: The History department promotes the study, research, and teaching of history from antiquity to the modern day.

Position Summary: The LAUNCH (The Lab at UNC History), an initiative within the Department of History at UNC Chapel Hill, promotes digital tools for historical teaching, research, and storytelling. We support the Department’s commitment to cutting-edge research and creative teaching through educational programs and community initiatives. This position will work with Dr. Lauren Jarvis in these efforts.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Demonstrated accounting and budgeting skills, strong problem-solving, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Expertise in Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, and manage both short-term and long-term projects.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Experience with People Soft or other ERP systems in higher education, knowledge of UNC finance and accounting procedures, including Connect Carolina, Info Porte, and Ramses. Experience with grant budgets, trust funds, and financial transactions such as vouchers and journals.
