Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking individuals with clinical and research interests in childhood cancer for a variable term, open rank faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Rank and protected time will be determined at a level commensurate with the applicant’s experience and accomplishments. Clinical duties include inpatient and outpatient care, participation in clinical trials, and the teaching of fellows, residents and medical students in a children’s hospital and comprehensive cancer center setting.

Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is required.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with a strong clinical program in both hematology and oncology. The division is affiliated with strong basic and translational research programs across the School of Medicine, including in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the UNC Blood Research Center, the UNC Children’s Research Institute, and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

The Division currently includes 18 physicians and 13 nurse practitioners. Divisional interests include solid tumors, neuro‑oncology, childhood cancer survivorship, stem cell transplantation, CAR‑T cell therapies, sickle cell anemia, thrombosis, and hemostasis.
