The University of North Carolina is seeking a talented and dedicated board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist (open rank) to join our team. UNC Children’s Hospital is routinely ranked amongst the nation’s best children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report with tremendous projected growth, including recently passed state legislation to support the creation of a free-standing Children’s Hospital.
The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a pediatric anesthesiologist to join our team at UNC’s flagship Children’s Hospital. Our pediatric anesthesiology practice includes all sub-specialties and spans the spectrum from healthy outpatients to complex neonatal surgery. UNC Children’s Hospital is a major regional referral center with pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU, pediatric ECMO, cardiac, burn, trauma, pain, sedation, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation programs.
The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology provides over 12,000 anesthetics per year to the children of North Carolina and surrounding states. The department has an active ACGME-accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship and serves as the pediatric anesthesiology training site for the UNC School of Medicine. Our department has a robust Global Health program, a state-of-the-art simulation lab and a strong relationship with the UNC School of Medicine.

Minimum Education And ExperienceRequires a medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent). Must have completed an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency program as well as Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship program (by the anticipated start date) and be ABA certified or eligible. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications , Competencies, And ExperiencePreference for individuals who have experience working in an academic setting, teaching graduate level learners (interns, residents, fellows), working in a team which includes CRNAs, CAAs and collaborating with other services.
