Position Summary
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) invites applications for a fellowship-trained Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgeon to join our growing multidisciplinary program. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic environment comprising 12 neurosurgeons with expertise across subspecialties, supported by robust clinical, research, and educational infrastructure within the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health.
Neurosurgery Services
Our neurosurgery services include treatment for aneurysms and cerebrovascular disease, brain tumor treatment, epilepsy and functional neurosurgery, spine and head trauma, hydrocephalus, pituitary and skull base surgery, spinal neurosurgery, pediatric and fetal neurosurgery. The department has expanded in recent years with new neurosurgical faculty, including surgeon-scientists, master clinicians, and an extraordinarily talented multimedia medical illustration team. There is a new neurosurgical outpatient center at the ACC.
UNC Health has acquired the latest technology, including the LITT, Robot, and high/low-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU/LIFU), and the department has established a new peripheral nerve and spinal oncology program. The department generated $2.52M in grant funding and received $2.95M in philanthropic support. In the last few years, the department has improved its standing in Blue Ridge and US News & World Report rankings.
