Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

This role offers a dynamic work environment with a blend of onsite and remote opportunities, depending on the employment arrangement. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.

- Handle payroll operations using Paylocity, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.

- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

- Assist with corporate and sales tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

- Generate and review corporate tax returns to meet reporting requirements.

- Utilize Quick Books for financial management and reporting tasks.

- Support the team in maintaining organized and updated general ledger accounts.

- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve discrepancies and streamline accounting processes. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and payroll processing.

- Proficiency in using Paylocity and Quick Books for accounting tasks.

- Strong knowledge of corporate and sales tax regulations and filings.

- Ability to perform bank and credit card reconciliations effectively.

- Familiarity with preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.

- Strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
