Train Driver

* Ensure that you are fit for duty before booking on with the control/performance desk
* Responsible for the safe movement of traction units and Heavy Haul Rail trains
* Responsible for learning and retaining knowledge of traction, routes, rules and regulations and operating notices
* Comply with Heavy Haul Rail standards and Railway Group Standards
* Be vigilant in observing all signals applicable to train movements
* Submit written reports when requested
* Road vehicle driving as required
* Other duties as directed by the relevant Manager
* Personally up-to-date regarding competence including relevant route/traction knowledge
* Fully conversant with all current operating rules, regulations and notices
* Good safety related performance record.
* Psychometric testing
* Full UK Manual Driving licence
* Competent in Rules and Regulations
* Competent in personal track safety.
* Competent in driving duties (for the maintenance of competence and clearance of the line in an emergency).
